Rested!

We pulled into the church parking lot just before 2:30am tired and ready to get some sleep.  We had a great day at Six Flags, but everyone was glad to be home.  Isn't there something unique about the feel of your own bed when you're exhausted?  It is amazing how quickly you can fall asleep and how long you can stay asleep.  The type of rest you experience after nearly 24hrs of being awake is incredible.  No dreams, no restlessness, just deep, energy restoring sleep.

That type of rest can be experienced on a spiritual level as well.  The Bible tells us in Psalm 23 that "He make us to lie down in green pastures...He restoreth my soul."  God not only gives us rest, but he restores our energy and enthusiasm for the Christian life.  Do you feel exhausted?  Do you need rest?  Turn to Jesus who will give us abundantly above what we ask or think.
