A favorite preacher for many, Dr. Pope is in constant demand by churches and conferences coast to coast, and spanning the globe. But, there is nowhere our Senior Pastor is more loved than here at Christchurch Baptist Fellowship. In 2011, Dr. Pope celebrated the 30th year as our pastor and the 41st year of his preaching ministry. His ministry is not only characterized by faithfulness and integrity, but defined by a vibrant prayer life and a reputation for rightly dividing the Word of Truth. His compassion for the lost, and his warm friendship to our congregation is a hallmark of Christchurch Baptist Fellowship. Dr. Pope studied for the ministry at Hyles-Anderson College in Crown Point, Indiana. Upon graduation, he and his wife, Barbara, spent 10 years in evangelism along with a short tenure on the faculty of Hyles-Anderson. Dr. and Mrs. Pope have been married since 1973, and have four children.

In 2014, he also became assistant pastor, principal of the school, and director of Living Springs Camp. He continued serving in these positions until the Lord moved him to work with his father-in-law, Dr. Johnny Pope, in January of 2018 as associate pastor of Christchurch Baptist Fellowship. As a young boy, David knew he needed to get saved. He says, "I knew I was a sinner, and I knew I deserved to go to hell because of my sin. I knew that Jesus died for my sin, was buried, and three days later arose from the dead. So I got saved when I called upon Jesus Christ and trusted Him to save me from my sin and hell!" God burdened his heart to preach at age 17. He graduated from Bible college with a Pastoral Ministries degree and music minor in 2007. He stayed to get 3 Masters degrees: Bible Exposition, Educational Administration, and Master of Divinity. In the summer of 2005, God allowed David to begin traveling as an evangelist. In 2009, David started traveling as an evangelist full-time! David is also an accomplished stage illusionist. His illusions have opened a door for a public school ministry. He has performed illusions in front of over 145,000 people. Through these contacts, God has allowed David to see thousands of people saved! David married Joy in April 2011, and together they served God in evangelism until COVID-19 hit! David came on staff at Christchurch in April 2020 to serve as Youth Pastor. His life verse is II Corinthians 12:9. David and Joy have a special needs son, a daughter, and another son.
