Make Your Resolutions Stick
Too many people want to "feel", and then take action. This never works.
Have you made a new resolution this year? Are you wanting to accomplish something, aquire a new skill, or change a behavior? Don't wait until you feel like it...or you will never do it. John Maxwell, in his book Developing the Leader Within You, refers to an article he read in a medical magazine.
"We have news for you. Motivation is not going to strike you like lightning. And motivation
is not something that someone else - nurse, doctor, family member - can bestow or
force on you. The whole idea of motivation is a trap. Forget motivation. Just do it.
Exercise, lose weight, test your blood sugar, or whatever. Do it without motivation. And
then, guess what? After you start doing the thing, that's when the motivation comes and
makes it easy for you to keep on doing it."
The Bible says it this way, Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. Proverbs 16:3
Don't wait until you feel like it...just get it done.
