Camp Update #1

3

An Early Morning – 4:30 AM came early (I don’t know if it ever comes late?) this morning. What a thrill it was to see parents and teens alike crowd in for some donuts, help load the bus with the luggage, and then say their goodbyes for the week. We are so excited to see what God has in store for us!

Bathed in Prayer – One of the most encouraging parts about this morning was a voicemail that I received from one of our dear saints, Mrs. Beverly Adams. At 4:30 this morning I missed a call from Mrs. Beverly due to the busyness of getting last minute things ready for the bus. A few moments later I listened to the voicemail that she left. Simply put, the voicemail was filled with heart felt wishes and expressions of prayer for our youth group and counselors. What a picture of our church heart this week! I thank God for a Pastor who was willing to show up at 4:30 AM to see our teens off to camp! What a privilege to be a part of a church that has caught the heart and vision of our pastor!

As of right now we are rolling down the road in Arkansas, approximately 2.5 hours from our destination. We stopped for lunch 1 hour ago in Texarkana. Our ETA at Triple S Christian Ranch is approximately 3 PM. Thanks for all the prayers for safety and for God’s hand on our trip. We love you!

Continue to pray for our teens this week!

Jeff - Thanks for the the kind words! We sure do love Kobe! We have had an absolute blast this week! Thanks so much for letting him come!

Karen - We love Pastor Pope so much! We are so privileged to have him as our pastor...I truly believe that the kindness of our church and youth group is a reflection of the leadership of Pastor Pope! We love Brian and are so glad he invited Roberto! We had a great time!

Looking forward to seeing y'all tonight!

I would like to say thank you to Pastor Caleb and Mrs. Ruthy as well. I am not a member of your church; the only reason I mentioned that is because It really never seemed to matter. You two, along with Pastor Pope are always so thoughtful and caring, you all do such a great job at making people comfortable. Koby loves the church, he is changing right in front of my eye's, and I'm so thankful that he is with you all now. Thanks for the update... that's awesome.

Yes, 4:30 comes early ! Thank you for posting updates on the progress. I had not expected to see Bro. Pope that early, and was pleasantly surprised to see him there. His faithfulness to God and members of his congregation are the attributes I love the best. This is my sons first year, and I am excited to see God move, challenge, and change his heart! Pastor Caleb, and Ms. Ruthy ~ the few short weeks Brian has been in the youth group, you have gone above and beyond to make him feel at ease, you have already established a bond with him, and I have seen him demonstrate excitement, and enthusiasm. You have made his transition seamless. Looking forward to the coming years and watching the growth he makes in his heart, soul, mind and body, as he transforms into a young man dedicated to loving and serving our Lord and Savior!
