Attitude: What is it?
3Attitude - What is it?
Attitude is an inward feeling expressed by outward behavior. That is why a person's attitude can be seen without a word ever being said. James Allen said it this way, "A person cannot travel within and stand still without". This is why our Lord stresses over and over in the Bible the need to filter our thoughts. Our thoughts and feelings influence our outward behavior. The Bible says it this way:
2 Cor. 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; ;
If we wish to have the right behavior, as teenagers, we must understand how to cultivate the right attitude. Godly attitudes comes from a godly thought life Prov. 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he. So, we must ask ourselves... "What are we thinking about?" TV shows, movies, internet sites, text messages, and advice from friends...are they helping or hurting our thought life? Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
If we wish to change our behavior we must change what we put into our minds. Actions are always a result of attitude.
