Attitude: The Key to Success (1)

Leonard Ravenhill in "The Last Days Newsletter" tells about a group of tourists who were visiting a picturesque village.  As they walked by an old man sitting beside a fence, one tourist asked in a patronizing way, "Were any great men born in this village?" The old man replied, "Nope, only babies."

Great men and women are not born they are developed.  I believe that most of the teenagers in our youth group are very close to being what God wants them to be.  But, there are key elements that we must develop if we wish to acheive our full potential for Christ.  And, there will probably be no greater help or hinderance to our potential than our Attitude.

So, how do we develop the right attitude?  We must recognize that our attitude affects our performance.  My younger brother, Sean, has his pilots license.  Pilots refer to the position of the plane, in relation to the horizon, as the "attitude" of the plane.  Since the performance of the plane depends on its attitude, it is necessary to change the attitude in order to change the performance.

Psalm 51:10 says, Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.  If we wish to increase the performance of our Chirstian walk, we must learn to possess a right attitude.  As we continue the blog on attitude remember: If our heart (attitude) is not right, our actions (performance) will not be right.

Are your actions telling on you?
