Jail and Prison
Ministry
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound." (Isa.61:1) The county jail is different than prison. We have less time to be with those we minister to, but we are able to hold church services, Bible studies, and one on one counseling for those in Isolation (Lockdown) and General Population. The Jail Chaplaincy Ministries vision is to be a vital part in sharing the Good News of the Gospel with the entire incarcerated population of the Harris County Jail System and to offer assistance to Sheriff's personnel in times of crisis.

Bible Studies Shining the Light on the Word of GOD, as they look outwardly, for what is needed, inwardly (correspondence) Harbor Light
Ministries' Bible Studies reach over 80 prison units across Texas
with an average of 50 students participating at any one time. For
some, they wait, and stare patiently for the return of their
correspondence. "For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate
to be conformed to the image of his Son..." (Rom. 8:29) The Holy
Spirit's task is to acquaint us with what is in view in our
spiritual education; namely that he is to reveal Christ in us and
then afterward to get to work to conform us to Christ. To learn
Christ we must first see Christ.
