Condolences to Dr. Wallace Cobb

We thank the Lord for Wally and Juanita Cobb. For just under 60 years they have been married and through their marriage, they have done much for God and for His glory these many years in the Houston area. SInce I moved to Houston, I cannot think of a preacher in our area who has meant so much to me. In times of joy, he has rejoiced with me. In crisis, he has been an encourager to me. He has had just the right touch of wisdom when I have needed it and has been a friend for all seasons. I love this man and his family.

The funeral of Mrs. Cobb will be held at our church at 11:00 AM on Thursday, August 12. Please pray for the Cobb's daughter, Peggy and her husband, Don, their son, Lloyd Wallace and his wife, Crystal and their son, Edwin and his wife, Debbie. Also, pray for their grandchildren, Katie and her husband Jacob, as well as Spencer, Jenny and Carson.

The one word that keeps coming to my mind as I think about the Cobbs is "precious." The last visit I had with this dear lady of grace, was precious. The marriage of the Cobbs was precious. Their service to Christ was precious. Although II Samuel 1:23 refers to a king and his son, we could just as easily frame this as a commentary on the life of Wally and Juanita Cobb, for they "...were lovely and pleasant in their lives, and in their death they were not divided...

." Let us pray for this pioneering family who, under God, helped lay the foundation for Christianity in our area. A more precious wife...a more precious family you'll not find anywhere. "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints" (Psalm 116:15).
